A 17-year-old is being hailed as a hero for saving a complete stranger from a burning vehicle.

A Detroit teenager jumped into action to save a complete stranger from a firey crash. 17-year-old Tyler Kennedy is being hailed a hero for the selfless feat.

By all accounts, Kennedy is your typical good high school kid. He excels at academics, on the wrestling mat and on the football field at Colombia Central High School in Detroit. But to be so young, Tyler has an incredible amount of empathy and compassion—even for strangers.

Earlier this month, in Manchester, Michigan Kennedy came across a burning truck wedged into a tree, He didn’t know it at the time, but 65-year-old Leanne Gunther was still trapped inside.

Gunther had suffered a medical emergency at the wheel that caused her to crash into the tree. Upon seeing her, Kennedy sprung into action. He opened the passenger door and grabbed Gunther, pulling her to safety.
