Musician Russ Lee went from playing guitar in bar bands to singing in the choir to being a member of the contemporary Christian music group NewSong.

Ever heard of Winter Jam? It’s the biggest tour in all of the contemporary Christian music industry and it wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the bold faith of the band NewSong, who started the music festival in 1995.

In this video, we hear from Russ Lee from the band NewSong as he shares his powerful testimony of God’s redeeming grace in his life. “I went from playing guitar in bar bands for drinks and selling drugs… to singing in the choir…  to three months later, flying to Dallas TX and getting on a tour bus! I didn’t even know I was good at music. I just liked to do it!”

Russ also details the powerful growth of Winter Jam over the years. “What started as NewSong, and then NewSong and friends, and then January Jam, has become this ridiculous thing that’s so God-sized that we can take no credit for it.”

This “God-sized” event which stars some of the biggest names in Christian music is coming to 45 American cities this winter and tickets are purposely designed to accessible for anyone. Check out the Winter Jam site to see if your hometown is along the route and be sure to get your ticket today!
