Every Christmas season, we thoughtfully decorate our trees with ornaments from years past. Each piece may elicit memories of the person who gave you the decoration or the significance of why you acquired the ornament years ago.
In this episode of LightWorkers’ Christmas with Reilly + Roma, Roma Downey takes a moment to reflect on a white bulb decorated delicately with pink butterflies. “The butterfly plays special significance to me in my life,” she explains. They are so meaningful to her that she published a book entitled ‘Box of Butterflies’ earlier this year. “I like to imagine that our life is that box and the butterflies are all the blessings.”
Opening up with a touching story about how a butterfly in a cemetery came to connect Roma to the spirit of her mother, Roma illuminates how these delicate creatures help her keep her mother’s memory alive. A simple ornament is about so much more than what meets the eye.
