Mom Gives Birth to Identical Triplets: Chances of It Happening Are 1 in 200 Million. Amazing!

A 1 in 200 million chance of having identical triplets becomes a young mother's reality.

Becki-Jo from England was in for the surprise of a lifetime! Already mother to a young baby girl named Indiana, she felt as if her body was still trying to tell her something. “I had been being very sick and had a really bad headache so I booked an early scan and that was when I found out I was expecting triplets,” Becki-Jo said.

“It was the biggest shock of my life! We haven’t got any triplets in the family so it came completely out of the blue,” Becki-Jo stated. With no history of triplets in her family and mostly supporting herself, these three boys came into the world.

Rocco, Roman and Rohan were born with some health complications at first. “When they were born Rocco was 3lbs 5, Roman was 3lbs 6 and Rohan was 3lbs 10,” Becki-Jo shared. The babies were treated in the NICU for 3 weeks and identified as identical triplets.

“I was surprised because I expected them to be non-identical,” Becki-Jo said. “But then I’m normally the only one who can tell them apart, so that does explain a lot!” The chances of this happening for triplets is 1 in 60,000 or 1 in 200 million.

Becki -Jo couldn’t believe the news at first, “I was always convinced they weren’t because that’s what I had been told during my pregnancy.” Continuing, “I got in touch with a company who sent me some swabs and within three days of me sending them back, they told me the boys were identical… We don’t get anywhere fast because people are always stopping us when we’re out and asking if they are identical.”

Becki-Jo shares more about each of their personalities, “Rohan is the loud one, he’s always shouting. Rocco is normally quite laid-back, but he can be feisty too, while Roman is usually complaining that he doesn’t want to share. They’re always crawling about after the same toy, trying to get to it before their brothers do. Indiana loves them, she’s not one bit jealous—I do feel a bit sorry for her when I think what it’s going to be like growing up with three little brothers though!”

We wish this mother the best. Becki-Jo hopes to train as a Neo-natal in the future.
