Oscar award-winning actor and director Matthew McConaughey opens up about naming his son “Levi.” McConaughey says that the name was chosen from the Bible. Matthew the Apostle in the Bible, is also known as “Levi.” Matthew or “Levi” was one of the disciples of Jesus.
McConaughey shared his favorite bible verse, Matthew 6:22, with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America. Matthew was having his first son but didn’t know what to name him, “Levi” was always in the queue. His son was born at 6:22 pm so Matthew and his wife took it as a sign to name their baby “Levi.”
Matthew 6:22 reads, “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
Matthew is married to Camila Alves a Brazilian activist and model. Together they have 3 children, Levi, 10, Vida, 9 and Livingston, 6. Matthew shares that he and his wife had the name “Vida” for a girl. And he thought that “Livingston” was great because he’s met many men of character that had that name.
