Daigle has been making the talk show rounds for the past couple of months, appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Dancing With The Stars and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Daigle’s song You Say details the identity that can only be found in God. Watch her “Kimmel” performance below:

The videos uploaded to the show’s YouTube account received praise from online commenters.

“Finally a Christian artist who broke barriers and I’m so happy for her,” commenter Juan Morales wrote.

“This is awesome! Seeing Christian artists on mainstream television!” Blake Moody wrote.

“God bless you Jimmy for this, for showing a little of what being a Christian is all about, by the voice of Lauren Daigle!” YouTube user Luiz Montoya wrote. “Invite her for an interview!!”

Daigle also performed This Girl, which “tells the story of a girl who thinks she lost sight of God but later found that He’s been there with her all along,” according to Billboard.

In response to that performance, ScarlettP, a YouTube user, wrote, “It’s so amazing to see a Christian singer on this platform like Lauren Daigle has done! Hopefully, more Christian singers can do the same too!”

“Love seeing a worship artist getting so much mainstream love!” Breanna Waterhouse wrote.

In November, Daigle made her late-night debut on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, where she sang Look Up Child, receiving kudos from the late show host.

“That’s how to do it right there,” Fallon declared when Daigle finished her performance.

A few weeks prior to her performance on The Tonight Show, Daigle performed another one of her hits, Still Rolling Stones on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Following her performance, every studio guest received Daigle’s album, Look Up Child.

Ellen later shared a clip of Daigle’s performance to Twitter, saying, “Lauren Daigle is about to blow you away.”

Over the past year, Daigle has risen to fame, but it has not come without controversy. At the beginning of January, in an interview with 104.3 FM, Daigle proclaimed that she didn’t necessarily consider herself a Christian artist.

“I feel like those labels get put on you by other people,” Daigle said. “I was reading articles, I read them here in there, and one of them said Christian artist and the other ones said just artist. But I think part of me is just an artist because it encompasses everything. That’s kind of how I see myself.”

The singer did not mention God, faith or Christianity in the interview, but placed a large emphasis on love.

“I remember talking so much about, ‘Let’s just make sure that we make music that we believe in that’s pure, true sound and something that we love, and it’ll transcend wherever it’s supposed to go. But let’s make sure that it’s pure authentic to who we are,’” she said.

In October, following her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Daigle was asked by a radio host if she considered homosexuality a sin.

“Do you feel that homosexuality is a sin?” Domenick Nati of the Domenick Nati Show asked Daigle.

“You know, I can’t honestly answer on that,” Daigle responded.

She added that she had “too many people that I love” that “are homosexuals.”

“I think the second we start drawing lines around which people are able to be approached and which aren’t, we’ve already completely missed the heart of God,” Daigle said.

“I don’t have all the answers in life and I’m definitely not gonna act like I do, but the one thing that I know for sure is I can’t choose who I’m supposed to be kind to and who I’m supposed to show love to and who I’m not, because that’s the mission right?” she added. “Be who Christ was to every one.”

According to Billboard, Daigle’s hit song You Say reached spot 34 on Billboards top 40 this week, hitting an all-time record for the artist. Her single has sat on the Top 100 chart for a total of 32 weeks now.
