Pop singer and famous Texan Kelly Clarkson is coming to daytime television. “I love talking and I genuinely like people,” Clarkson shares with CNN. Continuing, “We learn so much from others when we take the time to listen.” Clarkson is known for having a real point of view on subjects ranging from the struggles of motherhood to weight gain in the spotlight.
Kelly is also a host on the singing competition The Voice with judges Blake Shelton, John Legend and Gwen Stefani. Some of Kelly’s first guests will include Dwayne Johnson and John Legend. But in a different show structure, the celebrities will be sitting alongside normal audience goers!
“You’ll see like, a librarian sitting next to a celebrity, sitting next to a singer, an actor; it’s different [mixes],” Clarkson says. “It’s a very divisive time right now, unfortunately,” she shares. “I mean, the social climate is very intense right now and I want it to be the hour of television that’s a bit of escapism for everyone. Like, I want everyone to enjoy the show. We’re going to highlight all different kinds of people.”
Clarkson will tackle social topics of the day, not shying away from topics that can make a true impact. In regards to any subject being off-limits Kelly shares, “I was like, ‘I’m cool with them all. I’m very excited about kind of unifying and leaving some positive footprints.”
“I love communication and I feel like there’s a lot of brokenness with that in the world right now and there’s so much division,” she tells the Today show.” So I do want my show to be just really inclusive and about connection.”We love Kelly’s fun personality, and wish her the best on her new show.
