In Psalm 100, we’re encouraged to “make a joyful noise unto the Lord,” but not all of us make a beautiful noise when we sing. Feeling like they don’t have a great singing voice can hold many people back from worshipping God with the rest of the church. But we’re here to help! We’ve created this video to aid you in how to sing in church.
The most important thing to remember before you begin is that God wants you to praise Him no matter what your voice sounds like. It’s not the sound of the voice that pleases God, but your heart behind it, your heart that is excited to be worshipping Him and declaring that He is good.
But, to feel more confident about your singing, there are a few simple tips that you can follow from this video.
First, it’s important to embrace the voice that God gave you. Learn to be okay with where you’re starting from and be willing to learn how to improve if you desire to. It doesn’t mean that you need to sing louder to compensate for a lack of melodic beauty. Do the people around you a favor and blend your voice with theirs; don’t try to overpower them.
After that, you can start practicing. Sometimes, just knowing the words and the melody of the song will help you be more confident in your singing and will help you sing better.
Believe it or not, there is a simple change you can make to your singing technique that will put some power behind your voice.
Watch the above video to find out an easy shift that will help you sing with more confidence!
