Stepping back to consider the remarkable circumstances that the heroes of the Bible endured in order to live out their faith can sometimes blow you away. In this episode of Men & Women From The Bible, dedicated to Rahab, we realize how much she embodied the savvy skills of a 007 agent.

God loves to work through unlikely heroes. In Joshua 2:1, the Bible describes Rahab as a Canaanite prostitute living in Jericho. She was not Jewish, nor was she respected in her own community. Since God loves working through the disenfranchised, of course, she was the perfect person to rise up as hero and aid in the delivery of God’s chosen people to the Promised Land! Rahab showed amazing bravery by listening to God’s call to care for the Israelites, allowing for God’s prophecy to come to fruition.

This video reminds us that Rahab was a businesswoman, a smooth talker and strategic double agent. Frankly, she was even more inspiring than Angelina Jolie, because she didn’t merely play a spy in a movie; she was the real deal.

When the city of Jericho fell, God honored Rahab’s bravery and hospitality by sparing her and her family’s lives. Extending all the way into the New Testament, Rahab is praised as a courageous woman of God whenever she is written about. Sometimes God calls us to dangerous circumstances, but His plan is always to bring glory to the world through our bravery.

Check out this video for an episode devoted to honoring the amazing courage of Rahab! She is the type of woman we all can work to model our lives after.
