On a whirlwind day, Katherine and Chanshi visit ten Biblical locations, led by an insightful Israeli tour guide, Doobie Sabbo. They delight in the lack of tourists at certain locations like Mount Camel, the Sea of Galilee, the Jordan River and the hometown of Mary Magdalene. As Katherine and Chanshi were able to find peaceful solitude away from tourists, they discovered space to experience spiritual insights. Chanshi explained, “[we] were joking that we’re going to be unpacking this for probably over a year. And someone actually told us, don’t stress out, because it probably will take a while to untangle and unravel all the things that God puts on your heart.”

The hometown of Mary Magdalene (Magdala) was beautiful and relatively untouched by modernity, offering an amazing portal into the historic times of Jesus. Within Magdala, they found the church called the Women’s Atrium to be surprisingly powerful. The building was built by a female architect to celebrate the women of the Bible.

Overall, their final day in Israel left a massive impact on both travelers. Katherine explained that it was “one of the most privileged days of my entire life… if you haven’t been to Israel, you have to come. There’s no other place like it on earth. You have to come!”
