Our country’s history owes a lot to George Washington; we remember him as a general, a president and the face of our one dollar bill. But did you know that he was the first president “ever on the whole entire earth?” Well, at least according to the kids in this episode of Totally Accurate History.

While they may have at least a couple of their facts not quite right, they’re not wrong about everything. There’s a lot to learn from the perspective of a child and their interpretation of history.

Like the fact that George Washington had long, curly hair because his wife curled it.

Or the state of dental affairs during George Washington’s era. One of our tiny professors speculates on Washington’s chompers, saying, “I heard he had wooden teeth.”

“Did he get splinters?” another one asks. Maybe he had cavities and lost all of his teeth because, “Back then, they didn’t even have toothbrushes.”
