What's the saying? Good people come from small places? No, but it should be! Get to know Brooklyn as she talks us through her tiny hometown, 4H shows and all. Oh the perks of small town living!


We love her videos, her personality, her insight; now it’s time to get to know her story. In her latest video, one of our favorite vloggers, Brooklyn, reminisces about what it was like to grow up in a small town.

“I mean small town, one high school,” Brooklyn begins, describing her hometown of Brawley, California on the Arizona-Mexico border. “Almost everybody I know grew up doing something called 4-H… goats, pigs, cows, everywhere. Shoved in every nook and cranny.”

A benefit of growing up in a small town, she adds, was that crime was virtually non-existent. Neighbors would leave their doors unlocked and if anything unsavory did happen, chances are it was just your mischievous cousin acting out because he was bored.

Stand-out memories from her childhood (which she describes in her characteristically charming way) include when the Walmart was finally built in town and when she saw her first celebrity: “The biggest celebrity I had ever met until I left my hometown was when Barney came to visit my preschool graduation.
