In today’s world, it can seem like disagreements run rampant; everyone has their side and opinion and it can be difficult to see the point in engaging with someone who sees things differently than you do. But actor, musician and director Juan Pablo Di Pace believes that engaging with people that don’t see eye-to-eye with us is exactly what we should be doing.

“You can disagree with someone’s views, but you have to keep the conversation,” he says. Juan Pablo encourages us to take on a global perspective, reminding us that “[d]ifferences make us unique and that’s what it should be like.”

A global perspective is part of living in the now, according to Juan Pablo. And living in the now naturally brings relief from fear and anxiety: “Fear and anxiety [are] about living in the future: you’re fearful of things that might happen, will happen, could happen.”

Instead of becoming overwhelmed by concerns about the future, we can practice positivity. Having a positive outlook is important, he says, because “…life tends to be kinder than we think.”
