Easter is a powerful holiday dedicated to celebrating Christ’s resurrection. However, Easter has also come to be associated with certain imagery that doesn’t align with the Biblical account, at least as first glance. In this video, speaker Seth Dahl takes a closer look at Easter eggs. Although eggs are not highlighted in the gospels, they can prove to be powerful symbols to help our children better understand their new life in Jesus.

Seth explains that eggs can represent our relationship with the Lord. “Inside an egg, [is] a chick. And chicks are alive inside the egg. But, until they break out of the shell, they’re not experiencing life to the fullest. Once they get out of the shell, they get a brand new life, even though they were already alive.” Seth likens our life before we met Christ to the lives of chicks still living inside their eggs. “Before [Jesus] gave us new life… we were like chicks inside a shell. We’re kind of alive, but we’re not experiencing life the way we could be. When Jesus came out of the grave and we became new creations, it’s like we stepped into new life… life to the fullest!”
