Is it better to be holy or happy? As Matt Brown says, one ultimately feeds into the other, and God has a way to have both. It's the ultimate win-win!

Matt Brown, founder of Think Eternity and evangelist to millions around the world, asks, “Does God want us to be holy or happy?”

This is an important question, and one asked by many people for many years. And while some assume that happiness and holiness are opposite, Matt shows how one leads to the other. We don’t have to choose between being happy or being holy. Not only can we have both, but it’s what God wants for us.

God is a good father. That means He wants what’s best for us, His children. He wants to see us happy and full of joy. But in order to experience true happiness and joy that comes from being connected to God on a deep, intimate level, we first need to be holy.

Our loving Father longs for us to be holy because He knows more than we do how much sin will harm us. He sees sin as a rattlesnake curled up at our feet, ready to strike. And so like any good father, God tries to protect us from the danger of sin by calling us to live a life of holiness.

In John 10:10, Jesus says, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” An abundant life is one filled to overflowing with happiness, and so our holiness and happiness are the very reasons that Jesus came to this earth.
