Matt Brown keeps his focus on spreading the Gospel, using both live events held around the world and social media to help him do so. In this video, Matt shares about the goal of faith and what it means to be running the right race. He says, “If Jesus isn’t the prize, you’re running the wrong race.”
It’s important for us as Christians to take inventory of our heart and really consider not only why we were drawn to Christ in the first place, but also why we continue to follow God. If our primary goal is not to get to know Jesus on a more intimate level every day, then we’re missing the point. So many people in the world today are only worried about what they can get out of a relationship, whether it be a friendship, a marriage or their relationship with Christ. But if we are only focused on receiving, the relationship will struggle, and in time, fall apart.
Matt shares this important message by showing us the example that Paul set for us in Philippians 3:7 when he said, “I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
As followers of Christ, we are all running a race that will last a lifetime; we need to have Jesus in front of us as the prize, the finish line and our example. It is only when we focus our eyes on Jesus that we can truly become what we were called to be: Christ-like.
