Does a bad day have to stay that way? Brooklyn Wagner gives us the 1-2-3 on how to shake off those bad day blues.


We’ve all had ‘em. And if you haven’t, then we want your secrets next.

“Someone’s like, ‘Take your lemon of a day and make lemonade,’…I’m like, ‘I don’t want lemons at all! Get the lemons outta here, I want apples.’”

Meet Brooklyn, a vlogger who perfectly sums up how we all feel on those days when we wish we could hit snooze for another 24 hours.

“It’s just…off,” she begins, describing what it’s like when nothing traumatic may have happened, but our list of responsibilities just rolls down a hill we’d prefer to skip over. Maybe we forgot to do laundry or a surprise bill was debited from our account. Regardless of the particulars, we’re left figuring out how we can purchase a Do Over.

“Bad days kind of sit on your shoulders like they’re perched there,” she explains.

And yet, while a Do Over would be nice, Brooklyn has some (far more realistic) advice:

“Having a bad day is kind of in my own hands,” she says, “…the common denominator of the kind of day I have is usually how I choose to see that day.”

Referencing one of Paul’s key verses at the end of Philippians, Brooklyn then goes on to encourage us to see the inherent ability of our thoughts in even the direst of circumstances: “So crazy how much power our minds have to dictate how we experience reality,” she points out. “Woah.”
