Crafting doesn't have to be costly. Create your own DIY paint brushes with your kids—you only need clothespins, found objects and a little imagination to get started!

Who says you have to paint with a standard paint brush from the art supply store? Not us! In fact, we think using everyday objects from around the house makes painting even more fun. That’s why on this episode of Craftitude, we’re making our own DIY paint brushes.

Take your kids on a scavenger hunt to find household items to transform. Things like cotton balls from the bathroom, sponges from the kitchen and pine needles from the Christmas tree are all up for grabs. Encourage them to use their imagination and envision what the various textures will create on paper when applied with paint.

Then, gather all of your objects at the table with a bag of clothespins. Clothespins? Yep, that’s right. Just watch the video above to see how the magic happens. Your masterpiece awaits.

Craft on!
