Dogs, amazingly, are far more interested in frisbees than Facebook. Just one of the many things we can learn from our furry canine friends.

This episode of Animal Classroom is dedicated to everyone’s favorite four-legged friend: the dog! Let’s paws and reflect on how incredible these canines are. Who hasn’t had their life brightened at some point or another by these loving, loyal, playful creatures?

Dogs can teach us humans amazing lessons about how to view the world. First of all, their ability to focus on whatever they are doing is nothing to be sniffed at. Whenever a pup is focused on a Frisbee, a ball or a chew toy, no smart phone alert is going to distract them. They can’t be bothered to stop playing to read an emoji-filled Instagram comment. When playing, a dog is fully present and fully engaged, even to the point of losing their breath, panting for fresh air.

Next, let’s consider how grateful and easy-going these creatures are. Preparing food for a picky eater can make meal time ruff. No need to worry about fussy dietary restrictions when a dog is around. They make you feel like an award-winning chef, eager to eat anything you serve. You don’t need to stress over words like “gluten free, fair trade, locally sourced, organic or vegan” when your four-legged friend looks up at your plate with their begging puppy-dog eyes. Whatever you are eating, they are down to snag a bite, should you feel so inclined to share.

What else can you learn from dogs? Check this video out; it offers up more great lessons that man’s best friend can teach!
