In an honorable gesture, Jun made the sacrificial decision to tend to victims of the Coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan Province with no guarantee that he would ever return again, that he would ever hold his wife again, that he would ever know old age. A reality that is palpable, heartbreaking and breathtakingly inspirational in the photo shared by Historium Podcast with the caption, “Lyu Jun, a Chinese doctor, saying goodbye to his wife before going to the Wuhan province to treat Coronavirus patients.”

As the Coronavirus outbreak sends the world stage into high alert lockdown, its moments like these that keep hope and light in the hearts of man as fear grips so many.
