‘Jesus Saved Us’: Christian YouTube Stars Suffer Serious Injuries, Thrown 50ft in Hit-And-Run

“Jesus saved us last night...” Hear the powerful testimony of Marcus and Kristin Johns after they were involved in a horrific hit-and-run accident.

YouTube stars and faith-filled Christians Marcus (27) and Kristin (24) Johns took to social media this week sharing the news of a “horrible” hit-and-run accident they were in last Monday.

“Jesus saved our lives last night. Please keep us in your prayers. My femur is broken and Marcus’ leg is broken as well. We both had surgery this morning,” Kristin captioned her video post. “I am thankful to have you guys who I know love us and have faith so please just lift us up and praise Jesus for saving us. I am thankful that we are alive.”

The pair were struck and thrown 50 feet while riding their bikes in Los Angeles. Each suffered bone fractures and required surgery.

“A man going extremely fast hit us head-on and he fled the scene. My femur is snapped in half and I had surgery this morning. Marcus’ lower leg is broken,” Kristen shared from her hospital bed.

“Marcus, who launched to stardom on Vine before switching to YouTubeexplained on Instagram that the pair had been biking on a trail with other cyclists and pedestrians when a car came flying recklessly toward them,” People reported.

“It seemed like in the moment the guy was trying to hit us on purpose. He was driving erratically and swerving towards us. I tried to swerve out of the way but he just followed us to hit us,” Marcus stated.

Me and @kristinjohns are ok! Nothing is official yet, but this is what we think has happened: We were on the far side of the road with other bikers and pedestrians. It is a residential neighborhood with multiple stop signs and speed bumps back to back over a short distance. I look down the road and heard an engine revving all the way up and it seemed like in the moment the guy was trying to hit us on purpose. I said to Kris “what is this guy doing!?” He was driving erratically and swerving towards us. I tried to swerved out of the way but he just followed us to hit us. I blacked out until I got to the hospital. So after I don’t know what really happened. Sadly Kristin was fully conscious and had to watch me unresponsive on the concreate till ambulance arrived for us. Kristin said we flew about 50 feet from the impact. When I woke up and was trying to explain what happened, and I didn’t think people would believe me that I was convinced he was trying to actually kill us. But now it wall makes sense if the robbery and police pursuit is officially confirmed. Anyways, scary stuff. We are better now but please keep us in your prayers. We love you all. Me and kris got to see each other briefly today before going into our surgery and I am so glad she is safe. To friends and family, sorry if we don’t respond to you all now, it is hard to keep up with all of those reaching out (which is of course an amazing blessing to have!) praise Jesus. He has a plan for you and after today me and Kristin were totally reminded of this. Surviving this was nothing short of a miracle. ❤️🙏🏻

“The car that hit us was apparently part of a burglary and was trying to run from the cops and so we think that the car hit us on purpose to try to get the cops’ attention away from him so he could get away,” Marcus added.

Now in recovery with both projected to be walking normally again within four months, the Johns are declaring their survival a miracle.

Day 3 update. I’m waking with a walker! Your prayers are working! @kristinjohns did her physical therapy today and was able to sit up. The doctors said that this is actually very good for next day after a femur surgery. Here is a little clip of me walking and surprising her at her room. This was our first time actually talking in person since the accident besides a quick wave before our surgery. Pain for both of has been up and down. Best and worst it’s been so far. Just taking a day at a time. Would love to be able to put my full weight on my leg but my upper body is doing most the lifting as of now. Either way, I’m mobile and they are saying I will likely be discharged tomorrow! Please pray that Kristin is able to stand and walk a little so we can leave together at the same time! Thanks for all the calls texts and messages on social media from family friends and all who have supported us. It means the world and lifts our spirits so much!! Also to all the medical professionals who are here working during corona and around the world we couldn’t be more grateful. Love you all. The staff here has been so nice and accommodating and the detective police and first responders have all been amazing and very supportive through this difficult time. As of now the person who hit us is still out and about as of now, but more details to come soon. I will update when I can. A lot more details have come to light. Very weird stuff. I will let you know when I can. More to come! Love you all and thanks for cheering us on! Edit: since recording and posting this video, Kristin has stop up and walked 5 steps! Hooray! She is already ahead of me on the posting 😄😷😅
