In his introduction video on the May 13 premiere, Luke P detailed how his relationship with Christ has transformed his life in many ways. One of which is how he used to treat women versus how he currently treats women.

“I realized that I wasn’t the man I wanted to be and I’ve been working on the husband that I want to be for my future wife,” he explained in his introduction video.

In an Instagram photo, Luke P expressed his gratitude after receiving encouraging messages about his faith.

Leaving my house knowing Hannah Brown was selected to be the bachelorette I knew that I had a legitimate chance to find my future wife. I was extremely excited to meet her and was very hopeful that I would find my person. I have learned a lot about myself during this journey and I’m excited to share it with you all in the coming weeks. It means the world to me to get all of these encouraging messages from you guys. My faith is very important to me and I appreciate all of you guys showing me the love, support, and encouragement for sharing what I believe in. I cannot thank you enough. I want you all to know that I hope to be a source of encouragement posting about my motivation to be a better person and my love for God. I just want to be transparent and real with my posts so that people can see the real me. I’m not perfect, but I know the one who is. #faithfuloverfamous

According to the Gainsville Times, Luke is an active member at Christ Place Church, taking part in a small group, assisting in the college ministry and even teaching Sunday school classes in the past.

“Our guys are praying for him every day,” Mike Robertson, a friend and member at Christ Church told the Gainesville Times.

“He wants to share his faith and he wants to share his faith on national TV,” Robertson added. “He believes God has given him this opportunity to go out there, and he doesn’t know what‘s going to happen to him there, but he’s praying for opportunities.”

Luke’s brother Mike, whose wife nominated Luke for the show, told the Gainesville Times that God is using Luke on the reality TV show.

“I believe that God is using Luke,” Mike said. “I don’t know what this whole thing is going to look like for Luke at the end. It might just be one big learning experience for him. But at the end of the day, I want him to grow in maturity, I want him to grow in his faith, I want him to grow as a man and I can already see it happening.”

The highlight reel for the show, along with teasers for future episodes detail that Luke will continue to be a contestant on the show for at least a few more weeks.

The show airs on ABC on Monday’s at 8 pm.
