Chris Pratt shared with his fans this week that he has embarked on a 21-day Daniel fast circa Old Testament.
The megastar said, “Hi, Chris Pratt here. Day three of the Daniel Fast, check it out. It’s 21 days of prayer and fasting.”
A Daniel fast “or Daniel Diet is based upon the prophet Daniel’s dietary and spiritual experiences as recorded in the Book of Daniel in the Bible. It’s a partial fast that focuses very heavily on vegetables and other healthy whole foods, but leaves out any animal sources of protein [and dairy]. Many users of this biblically-based fasting method follow it for 21 consecutive days,” writes Ethan Boldt of Dr. Axe.com.
The Book of Daniel specifically references the Daniel Fast in two sections of the Book of Daniel:
- “Please test your servants for ten days, and let them give us vegetables to eat and water to drink.” —Daniel 1:12
- “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” —Daniel 10:2-3
Pratt even joked in his Instagram story, “It’s going to coincide also, coincidentally, with the Lego Movie 2 junket, so by the time you see me I’ll probably be hallucinating.” “Stay tuned.”
Jokes aside, Pratt might be onto something as the Daniel Fast has been proven to have a positive and lasting effect on the body. For more information visit www.daniel-fast.com.
