It was a tough loss when 15-year-old Mitchell Miner and his cow came in fifth place at the Iowa State Fair's youth dairy cattle show contest this year, so tough in fact that an adorable nap was required to recoup.

What do you do when you lose a competition you’ve been working grueling hours to prepare for? Take a nap of course! And that’s exactly what this boy and his cow did, capturing the hearts of millions around the world after a photo of their snooze went viral.

It was a tough loss when 15-year-old Mitchell Miner and his cow Audri came in fifth place out of seven contestants at the Iowa State Fair’s youth dairy cattle show contest this year. Together they had spent two months working daily to prepare for the competition, time by each other’s side that obviously created a heartwarming bond.

In preparation for the competition, young Miner would lead, bath, clip and walk Audri regularly—often keeping a painstaking and tiresome schedule. Prior to the State Fair, they had hardly slept for several days in a row and were extremely tired. A combination that ended with them taking a cuddly nap inside the barn together.

Mitchell’s father posted a picture of the wholesome moment stating, “Our son Mitchell and his heifer after showing yesterday.” An endearing moment that reminds us even more of the beauty in this world.
